Congratulations! By scheduling your introductory appointment with Broyles Retirement Services, you’ve taken the first step toward peace of mind. In the next step, you’ll help us to develop a retirement plan that is appropriate and suitable for you.
A sound retirement plan is inspired by dreams and based on solid, accurate information. Please take some time to gather the following documents, which will lay the foundation for our discussion, and bring them to your first appointment.
- Your most recent income tax return.
- An estimate of future expected income in retirement such as Social Security, employer pension income, and/or part-time work.
- The latest copies of all your financial statements:
- bank statements
- brokerage account statements
- employment-related savings plans
- 401(k)s, 403(b)s, TSPs, etc.
- An accounting of any unrecorded assets, such as cash you keep in a safe (or hidden in a mattress!), as well as savings bonds, etc.
- A list of your lifestyle expense—what does it cost for you to live your lifestyle? Be sure to include:
- Fixed expenses, such as housing and insurance
- Variable expenses, such as food and clothing
- Discretionary expenses, such as gifts and entertainment
- Debt repayment (credit cards, loans, etc.)
- Get our Lifestyle Expense List document
- A list of your dreams and goals for the future. This is what it’s all about.
